My first memory of woodworking was trying to knock together crate wood with bent nails and a rock as a hammer. I would fantasize constructing projects from the Handyman’s Encyclopedia. As a graduate student in art, I started combining construction in my paintings. I also started making furniture. The more I learned, the more I pushed myself, realizing that this had become more than a hobby. I have been making furniture professionally for ten years, and I am still passionate about the furniture I create. I hope I will have the opportunity to make something for you.

The concept of Ranch Modern started some time ago with a set of living room chairs belonging to my wife’s grandfather. The parts were heavier and the surfaces rough, but they had bold lines of more modern furniture. Since they were bought for his ranch, my wife and I always referred to them as ranch modern. That simple idea has evolved into what I’m doing now, taking the best of rustic and modern furniture and marrying them into a unique and exciting new style.
